Vaccination requirements

IFSS World Championships and Masters On-Snow 2021 in Åsarna, Sweden

Required vaccinations for all dogs, including dogs not racing:
Rabies, Distemper, Adenovirus-2 (Hepatitis and tracheo-bronchitis), Parvovirus and “Kennel cough” (Parainfluenza and Bordetella bronchiseptica).

All vaccines must have been administered more than 21 days before the race. The validity will be the one the producer declares.

Note 1) Kennel cough vaccinations have to protect against BOTH Parainfluenza AND Bordetella bronchiseptica (as with INTRANASAL or INJECTABLE vaccines).
Only if the dog is protected with an injectable vaccine against Parainfluenza given not longer than 1 year before (as in DHPPi vaccine), then the ORAL vaccine for Bordetella bronchiseptica is accepted.

Note 2) In addition to previous vaccinations Leptospirosis vaccination is not mandatory, but STRONGLY recommended.

Note 3) Rabies vaccination is mandatory also for dogs living in Sweden and Norway.

Ramundberget 2021 – WSA Sleddog World Championship, Sweden

List of required vaccinations for the event in Ramundberget can be found on the website: www.sleddog2021.se

World Cup  – new point system

In order to simplify the formula used to calculate the points of each competitor with DID in the World Cup accredited races, the Council has approved a system based on the position of the competitors in the result list instead of the time.

The competitors will easily be able to calculate and control their points using the grid shown in the World Cup Regulations § F.

With this new point system the points received during two 1-heat races are equivalent to the points received during a 2-heat race. Consequently the regulation B.4 which prevents for organizing two 1-heat races on two consecutive days is not necessary anymore and has been removed.

The complete revised World Cup regulations are available on the IFSS web site: https://sleddogsport.net/eng/29

In the absence of Continental Dryland Championships this season due to the Covid-19 pandemic and its travel restrictions, the World Cup will be the only IFSS international Dryland competition during the season 2020-2021. The IFSS Council and the Accreditation Committee recommend that the Member Federations request the accreditation of more events so that their competitors can compete for an international title without traveling outside of their national boundaries.

Championship and Master events applications

IFSS are inviting submissions from interested parties for the Continental Championships and Masters On-Snow and Dryland 2022 except for Latin American Championship Dryland that already has been agreed on.

Submissions are also welcome to organize World Championships and Masters On-Snow and Dryland 2023.
